The DERMALOG VF1 is the world's first scanner for biometrics and documents. Also available the DERMALOG ePassport Scanners XF3 and XF9: Intended for automatic reading and authenticity verification of passports, ID Cards, Visa and other documents, providing the capability of text data recognition, reading barcodes, RFID tags and Smart Cards. DERMALOG Scanners are ready to be integrated into Biometric Gates. A biometric ePassport system by DERMALOG involves a digital registration process.

It provides capturing of biometric data in compliance with ICAO guidelines and ISO/IEC 19794, complemented with country specific information. Relevant biographic and biometric data obtained from fingerprints, face and iris, a digital photo or signatures are captured and stored. Scanned fingerprints will be matched against a database—if they are already registered. The applicant’s nationality is checked, from an ID Card and the information is e.g. compared with blacklists, and duplicates.

After ePassport application data passes approval process - it is transferred to the personalization database. The ePassport personalization may include the following processes: 1. ePassport Personalization 2. Data Preparation 3. ePassport Quality Check (QC).

Further, DERMALOG offers multi-purpose biometric ID Cards for numerous fields of application like Civil Servants Cards, Health Cards, Drivers Licenses, or Seafarer’s Cards. Several countries are using a DERMALOG system to register foreign workers and to issue their biometric foreign workers cards (green cards) and permanent residents' cards. Due to this well-engineered and indispensable technology, DERMALOG can look back on successful implementations worldwide, which were delivered according to special customer requirements. In addition, DERMALOG can provide state-of-the-art hardware: document readers, chip and RFID card readers, 2D barcode readers as well as fingerprint scanners adapted to special application requirements.

DERMALOGʼs Civil Servant’s Cards are in use with the DERMALOG AFIS. They ensure correct single identities of government servants and prevent individuals from receiving multiple salaries (“double dippers”). DERMALOG has supplied complete systems for biometric seafarers’ registration, including Seafarer’s Cards, e.g. to Malaysia and Bangladesh. DERMALOG is one of the few ILO certified companies which is able to print a biometric bar code, which is readable in every international port.
